Shout Out Sunday

This was a weird week. The Rob Drought clearly has the "big" blogs scrambling for material – lots of repeat information. There were special occasions to celebrate, like Twitarded's first anniversary and Latchkey Wife's 150th follower. JJ and STY also announced the dates for their our trip to FOORRRKKKSSS!!! Mrs. P diagnosed our blog afflictions and provided the very best medicine...laughter, had Rob help with a TwiBite Challenge, and had her first Q&A. The sistas at Twired were busy spreading Jacksonitis, and RobMusement helped us find Rob.

And unless you live under a rock, we all know that Rob took part in the Hope for Haiti Now telethon, and Kristen made the rounds at the Sundance Film Festival. Yes, George Clooney got BEARded Rob to come out of hibernation.

I would also like to thank Anna Kendrick. Her connection with George and Rob had to have played a big part in making this happen. Mama Cougar at The Cougar's Den tipped me off on twitter that they were streaming Robert Redford's Q&A live at the festival. He was casual cool and even dropped the f-bomb at one point, which was a trip. Unfortunately, his makeup artist must be on the staff of the Twilight Saga makeup crew because his face was way too pale, especially compared to his real skin tone.

Speaking of the f-bomb, I subscribe to alerts from a new blog dedicated to Bel Ami. They posted a video of Rob talking about Bel Ami during Cannes. He's clearly psyched about this movie. So much so, that he dropped the f-bomb while talking about it. They hadn't noticed it until I commented on it. They have since updated the post. So glad I could bring them down to my level. LOL!

So we finally get to see Rob (and Kristen for us IGiveACrapsten fans), and what do we do? We hate on the beard, the weight, the clothes, the hair, the way he delivered his lines, the way she spoke in her interview, etc.

I stumbled onto this video over at Latchkey Wife's blog just this morning. How ironic. A lot of us know K_InTheFlo through Twitarded post comments and twitter, but I had no idea she made videos, too.

I'm going to play the role of Alice here and say, "Show me the love." So let's move on and think happy thoughts. Here we go with Shout Out Sunday links, starting, as always, with Twitarded and TwiBite.

BRETT FAVRE 4EVER...

It's official.

My days of seeing New Moon in the theater are over. I had set a goal of 11 viewings and fell a little short, but maybe it was meant to be. I saw it for the last time on the 17th. Just sayin'.

The theater that I normally go to pulled it first. I went with my best friend, who was a *gasp* New Moon virgin, on the 13th - the last week it ran there. When I couldn't find the poster in the lobby to take our picture by, I new its days were numbered. So I had to do a little Photoshopping in order to add it to my ongoing post. (To see the entire post, click here.)

Me & Michelle
(The picture was taken when we were cake cutters at the
wedding reception of the sister of the guy who gets me my
movie tickets and gave me the three movie trailer reels.)

Then my daughter came out to the house with a friend that we were basically meeting for the first time. In the course of the conversation, Twilight came up. Shocker, I know. Not sure who brought it up, either ;) Her friend said that he had actually seen Twilight but not New Moon and that he wouldn't mind seeing it. SCORE!!! So it was that I found myself going to what would end up being my last viewing of New Moon in the theater with another New Moon virgin. It couldn't have been more perfect, actually. The theater was pretty full. It was a vocal group, so I knew that, like me, they were all scrambling to see it one more time. Nick was a good sport about getting his picture taken with me. My daughter, not so much.

Nick & Me
(We had to go outside to find the poster. The mist, the cold,
and the bright lights didn't make for a great photo op.)

Well, I'll show her. Here is a picture of my beautiful kids, Danica and Travis, at my niece's wedding reception.

And I have to admit that my heart literally skipped a beat and I got a little weak in the knees when we got to the theater and there in the lobby was the Remember Me poster. It is heartbreakingly beautiful...he is heartbreakingly beautiful...the movie is going to be heartbreakingly beautiful.

So with New Moon gone from the theaters, I officially need to switch gears. Rob is in pre-production for Bel Ami. Remember Me hits the theaters in mid-March. Eclipse will start making its run in June. I have read the script for Bel Ami and Remember Me (working title Memoirs) and have Eclipse (or some version of it at any rate) but have yet to read it. I'm not sure if I will, actually. If my kung fu is strong enough, I plan on only watching the official trailers for Eclipse and experiencing the movie in that context. I'm not opposed to looking at set pictures or official movie stills, but I don't want to watch "leaked" videos like I did for New Moon. The way I felt after watching the entire breakup scene online made me almost physically ill. It was the first time I felt I had seen too much. I think it would have had a much more emotional impact on the big screen if I hadn't already seen it.

I've been pretty vocal about being disappointed about Remember Me being given a PG-13 rating. I've also been pretty vocal/pissed about the casting of the female leads for Bel Ami. But you know what last night's appearance of Rob at the Hope for Haiti telethon proved to me? I'm okay with all of it. Maybe it was the wine I was going through during Drunk Mad Libs at Twilight Sagapalooza. Maybe it was the fact that it felt like it had been years since I'd seen him or heard his voice. It's all irrational, I know, but whatever it was, I like the way that I feel today.

These are scripts that he fell in love with. These are movies he wanted to see made. These are movies he will grow as an actor in. Do I wish they all could be rated R? Of course. But then again, this is still one of the sexiest kissing scenes I have ever seen...it's PG-13...they are fully clothed. Sometimes, less is more.

Then there's this PG-13 seat squirmer.

And let's don't forget that Little Ashes will be out on DVD soon. I've seen enough YouTube clips of Little Ashes, The Summer House, and The Bad Mother's Handbook to know that Rob is sexy no matter how he looks or who he's kissing. Don't get me wrong. I have my fingers crossed that Bel Ami will be X-rated...er...R-rated, but in the meantime, there's always ff ;)

Like Mrs. P's story at TwiBite.

(I'm going to make you head over to her site for the
link so that you look around while you're there!)

Speaking of which, my super bloggy BFF sent me this for being her beta. She didn't have to, but I'm psyched she did. Pocket Edward and I love the mug, and we love Mrs. P.

I love that mug – and I love this one.

FYI -
Socialite Life has tons of great pictures from the Hope for Haiti telethon, as well as an article and pictures with Kristen at the Sundance Film Festival.

Freaking Friday

This is what I have been waiting for. A tragedy occurred in Haiti, and George Clooney rallied the troops to help. So many celebrities. So many fans. And, yes, our boy was a part of the event. I waited until his appearance to donate. Please watch and find it in your hearts to do the same.

Fire and Ice

Well, this was supposed to have been my Wet Wednesday post. In the middle of working on it, I lost power for almost six hours due to an ice storm here in the Midwest. Thank God for my iPod Touch to help pass the time. Here's what I was working on.

I get home from work today and find out that they have given Remember Me a PG-13 rating. That announcement qualifies for an entry in my Wet Wednesday post due to the tear factor.

My inner kitty's reaction

My inner child's reaction

Rob's reaction

My take on the rating

Rob had talked to his people first...

and got this reaction.

Well, at least Summit's name isn't attached to Bel Ami.

Here's the basic plot if you're unfamiliar with it:

"A chronicle of a young man's rise to power
in Paris via his manipulation of the city's
most influential and wealthy women."

That has to be rated R, right?

Right, Rob?

Where are you going?

Crap.

Maybe not.

Back to ff, I guess. *sigh*

It's been awhile, so here's some music to scroll by
while we console ourselves with Wet Wednesday pics.

We have to start with some wet Rob.

Manip Monday

Well, if you want to get technical, it's actually Tuesday and probably Wednesday across the pond. I am going to get caught up one of these days. Here's what rocked my world in the land of Robart this week.

I included the link to this fanmade video in my Shout Out Sunday, but just in case you missed it, it's simply stunning. It's created by tiffanyd666, and I first heard about it on Cullen Boys Anonymous.

And I'm just putting this up because we're in a Rob Drought, I miss him, and I love this interview. I still get chills with the audience reaction, and I could listen to his laugh all day long.

Shout Out Sunday

It's Sunday and I'm actually going to post early for a change. I'm also going to *gasp* pull myself away from the bloggy world for awhile and watch my beloved Brett Favre and his Minnesota Vikings take on the Dallas Cowboys. I don't want to hear from any Favre haters — this post is all about showing the love.

Just let me say that I am so glad that I have set this day aside to call attention to other blog posts because it is during my research that I find posts that I missed and ones that I get to enjoy all over again. Hope you like this week's picks, too.

Freaking Friday...That it Was

Fridays just became my favorite blog day of the week. I thought it would be because of my fabulous themed Freaking Friday posts. Um, yeah. Didn't get one done yesterday. But I have a REALLY good excuse. Friday, as we all know, is the end of the work week, so the day just automatically starts out on the right foot.

Rob, honey, the right foot.

Now we're ready.

Music to scroll by
(I think these five dudes would fit in
with our group quite nicely, actually.)

First there was my homework assignment. I was picked to come up with questions for this week's Friday Fun Five at Twi-sted Edbrella by Jelena at Confessions of a Twiholic. Jelena, btw, is only four degrees of separation from Rob, which makes her Snarkier Than You's #1 Follower according to her answer in the Twitarded TwiBite Challenge. The responses, as always, are enlightening to say the least. This is one fun group of Twi-hos.

Then, after playing Mad Libs at Twilight Sagapalooza last week, I suggested to mmMoxie that it become our regular Friday night drinking game. So last night was the first Friday Drunk Mad Libs. It was a riot. I think I may have even been named an honorary member of The Mafia Saga.

mmMoxie had Lil E all set up to keep score.

While impatiently waiting for my turn to go again, there was a whole lot of twittering going on. It was chaotic, crazy, and craptastic. Of all nights, mmMoxie, Lizardstew, TigerlilyRose, and Twilove1 decided to pop their twitter cherries and start tweeting. Twitter veterans Mrs. P at TwiBite and Cullenary Curser were in on the fun, too. It went something like this.

Me after two glasses of wine.
The only time I can say I'm a lightweight.

mmMoxie and LizardStew
begin their twitter adventure

TigerlilyRose not quite
getting the hang of things

mmMoxie 10 minutes later

Lizardstew 10 minutes later

TigerlilyRose 10 minutes later

Me trying to help them

Twilove1 couldn't figure out
what all the fuss was about.

Mrs. P can do it all -
tweeting, mad libbing, emailing,
looking at RobMusement's Robporn,
blogging, and helping newbies

Then the unthinkable happened.
Mrs. P was notified that she
had reached her tweeting limit
and could return in two hours.

Them there's fightin' words.

Mrs. P

Me

Cullenary Curser

The twitter techtard that sent the
message never saw it coming.

In the meantime...

mmMoxie trying to
Follow and be Followed

Lizardstew trying to add an avi

Twilove1

Finally, the power of tweeting was restored
to Mrs. P and all was right in twitterland.

Except for one thing.

JennyJerkface was snorting...er...tweeting
in her Joisey accent (LatchkeyWife is my witness)
and said SnarkierThanYou was on her way over.
We never heard from JJ again. Just sayin'.

In the meantime...

mmMoxie and Lizardstew

TigerlilyRose left the building.

I see that a TwiBite Manager's Meeting for January has been called to order and I'm in charge of watching the door, so I'd better get back over there. If things are quiet while I'm there, I will put on my Beta cap and review the first two chapters of Mrs. P's FanFic debut. I see she has commissioned the talented Jeanette (aka itsjustme1217) at RobMusement to design her FanFic banner and that she's sporting a brand new blog site banner designed by the creative Amy at Anxious About RPattz.

Tip your hat to the ladies, Rob.

Happy Saturday!
