BD Review Week 5

Well, kidz, it's Friday and all this week the RobSquad (slacker member here) has been hard at work to bring you a comprehensive review of Breaking Dawn. So please be sure and visit the following blogs to get their take on things.

I drew *coughiwaslateandkiTTbeatmetomusic* quotes from the book vs. the movie. I'm going to be honest. I have only seen the movie four...make that three and a half...times and it's been awhile since I've read the book, so I was rusty on what was in the book vs. the movie. I do know one epic line that was left out. I'm sure you all know which one I'm talking about.

"Why am I covered in feathers?"

There is merch up the ying yang with this quote on it. I can't tell you how many t-shirts I saw in LA during the premiere week alone. I think it's safe to say everyone thought it would be in there. I get why it's not in there (a) Edward wasn't even in the room when Bella woke up covered in feathers and (b) it helped facilitate Bella's flashback of the wedding night.

Beyond that, I couldn't have told you which came first...the quote in the book or the movie. So in that spirit, I'm going to list some quotes that I know for sure were said in either the book or the movie because they spoke to me on some level. Feel free to help me out in the comments if I messed any/all up :)

BACHELOR PARTY

Book: Bachelor parties are designed for those who are sad to see the passing of their single days. I couldn’t be more eager to have mine behind me. So there’s really no point. (Edward)

Movie: Apparently movie Edward thought there was a point ;)

Book: If you don’t send Edward out, we’re coming in after him! (Emmett)

Movie: Send him out, Bella, or we're coming in after him. (Emmett)

Book/Movie: I’ve been waiting a century to marry you, Miss Swan. (Edward)

WEDDING

Book: Bells, we’re up to bat. (Charlie)
Book: Don’t let me fall, Dad. (Bella)

Movie: You ready? (Charlie)
Movie: Just don't let me fall down. (Bella)
Movie: Never. (Charlie)

Billy Burke steals every scene he's in. This one made me cry. Shocker, I know.

Book: No vows were mentioned beyond the traditional quoted "I do's."

Movie: No measure of time with you will be long enough. But we'll start with forever. (Edward)

You knew I had to make this b&w. *sigh*

ISLE ESME

Book: I’m sure you’d like a human minute or two… It was a long journey. (Edward)
Movie: I could use a few human minutes. (Bella)

Book/Movie: Don't take too long, Mrs. Cullen. (Edward)

Bonus Pic
I have a thing for Rob's bare feet. Sorry, Naughty.

Book: I didn't dream that you would construe the way I feel about what I did to you to mean that last night wasn't . . . well, the best night of my existence. (Edward)

Movie: Last night was the best night of my existence. (Edward)

Book: I was perfectly happy. Totally and completely blissed out. Now – well, I’m sort of pissed actually.

Movie: Why can't you see how perfectly happy I am. Or was five seconds ago. I mean, I'm sort of pissed off actually.

Book: I’m a little worried about Edward… Can vampires go into shock?

Movie: I don't know. I'm a little worried. Can vampires go into shock?

Book: Do you want me to sing to you? I’ll sing all night if it will keep the bad dreams away. (Edward) *pouts* I wish this had been in the book AND he had sung to her. Just sayin'.

I feel better now :)
This is still the ring tone on my cell phone btw.

CULLEN HOUSE

Book: You know her, Jacob. You connect to her on a level that I don’t even understand. You are part of her, and she is part of you. (Edward)

Movie: Look, Jacob, I need you to do something for me. (Edward)
Movie: For her. You have a connection with her that I'll never understand. Maybe you could talk to her, change her mind. You could keep her alive. (Edward)

I know this picture doesn't go with the above quote(s), but I
couldn't find one that did and Taylor was so good in this scene.

Book: It… the baby likes the sound of your voice. (Edward)
Book: You have the most beautiful voice in the universe. Who wouldn’t love it? (Bella) *nods*

Movie: He likes the sound of your voice. (Edward)
Movie: You can hear him? (Bella)
Movie: And mine. He likes my voice as well. (Edward)

Book: What's that? (Jacob)
Book: My venom. (Edward)

Movie: What is that? (Jacob)
Movie: It's my venom. (Edward)

Could not find an image to go with this quote. I just find it
sexy that Edward is going to inject Bella with his venom.
So let's look at another sexy picture instead, shall we?
I had to find a way to get Jacksper in this post ;)

Movie: Come back to me, please, baby! Bella! Bella! Please! (Edward)

THIS. GUTTED. ME.

I'll leave you with a quote that I hope makes it into Breaking Dawn, Part 2.

Book: You stupid mutt! How could you! My baby! (Bella)

Now head back over to RobMusement for some awesome Breaking Dawn Review Week Picspam!

Geez, have I been neglectful of the blogs. Lisa, this is great! I haven't picked up the book in....could it be years? Very interesting, nice work!

I could never pin point individual lost or included points in the movie when I watched it. Instead I just knew the movie had managed to get them all wrapped up perfectly. To see the ones you defined and compared just confirmed that Bill and Rosenberg got the essence of BD right and maybe even better than SM. They managed, as you did Lisa, to put a border around the most beautiful pieces of the story.
First thing from your post that stood out was your black and white wedding shot. I see peace.
Also the b/w video with "Let Me Sign" was pure genius. Rob's voice over the gritty scenes killed me. I'd never seen that version before, perfect.
Then the honeymoon picture of B/E below the book/movie quote "Don't take too long, Mrs. Cullen" Well something about the innocence caught on that shot paired with the quotes you included, make me all gooey inside.
For some reason I didn't miss the "Feathers" quote. It seemed to be there in spirit. Again, I liked how Bill shot that scene of her waking alone among the after math of Edward's limited control and passion. Made me girlie giggle.
Thank you for including a rare, hot Jasper. He was sadly neglected in BD1. Let's hope his military training will be highlighted in the battle scenes in BD2.
Lisa, I can tell you did a lot of research. It paid off.
Enjoyed it, a lot!

You snooze, you lose what you wanna choose!

As I watched I was really taken by just how many of the lines were from the book. Some of them they had to pad a little, but it worked.

It did seem like they sacrificed the feather quote in order to achieve the flashback to the night before. It is a shame they couldn't have had the dialogue between them and then Edward goes to make breakfast and Bella remembers then.

The b/w image of E/B from the wedding is beautiful.

Jasper. With his hair, I wanna get him out of those clothes and into a wetsuit. He's got a Malibu Ken thing going on. lol

Lisa, this was a terrific post.

What's with you ladies and the feet? YUK! (LMAO)

Jasper...just too sexy for his vest. Hold on while I get a napkin. I'm drooling a little over him.

Great post Lisa!! Very dedicated to remembering the lines from the book. Unless they come directly from Rob it's like I've never heard them before ;)

They could have changed the feathers scene to:
Interior Bedroom [broken headboard torn apart room feathers EVERYWHERE Bella wakes]: Why am I covered in feathers?? *gasp* (flashback) *silly grin*
End Scene
Just sayin ;)

And as for Jasper I agree with kiTT "Jasper. With his hair, I wanna get him out of those clothes" the end LOL!!

I have to admit, I didn't realize the feather line was missing until I read it in the reviews. *shrug* In my defense, it's been forever since I read the book. Or any of the Twilight Saga, for that matter. (Fan Fiction doesn't count, obviously.)

I really hope that last line is in Part 2 as well!!

I was disappointed that the Dog comments and the Dumb Blonde jokes were missing between Jake and Rose in part 1.

Great job, Lisa! For not knowing what you were going to do, you sure managed to do well! LOL!!
