Rob's Birthday Letter

It's day three of the Birthday Blog Train engineered by Jeanette at RobMusement, and we had the choice of presenting Rob with a birthday card or a letter. Since I'm a Hallmark kind of girl, not to mention a little wordy, I opted for the letter ;)

Dear Rob,

May 13th is a very special day . . . for your mum. When my kids have a birthday (yes, damn it all, I am old enough to be your mother), it is as much of a celebration for me as it is for them. I didn't know how off center my world was until they were born and righted it.

So I know what this day means to your mum. Twenty-four years ago, she held you in her arms for the first time and looked in wonder at the face that would one day launch countless blogs in your honor. Oh, she knew you would be special, but there's no way she could have imagined the words Sexhair, Jawporn, and Hobolicious being used to describe you.

So when you celebrate your birthday, remember your mum and the joy she is feeling on this day (but don't let that stop you from getting your drink on – I love me some Drunk Rob – just sayin'). You changed her life forever 24 years ago, and I'm sure you righted her world, too.

Happy 24th birthday, Rob!

Aww, very sweet to be thinking of Rob's mom *ahem* mum. Am I the only one who feels like he looks older than 24? Maybe it's because we're just a few months apart in age...

Lisa this is adorable. Though you wrote to his Mum, we were definitely on the same page with our posts. I can't watch the darn vids, as I'm at work right now...but looking forward to later tonight...as it's my FRIDAY!

Lisa, I actually got a little teary when I read this to my hubby. That was a wonderful letter. I know how much your children mean to you and how much you love being a "mum" :) so it was sweet of you to think of her on Rob's birthday. I usually thank my Mom on my birthday as without her (ok and my dad too) I wouldn't be here. Favorite Lisa train post so far.

This was very sweet to remember mum n dad. We wouldn't have a Rob without them!

I am sure his sisters said we have a little baby brother and we shall call him Claudia! LOL!!

Now on to adult stuff, let the party begin! Anyone see the hornitos tequila commercial about the friend and his cougar date? Funny

Happy Birthday Rob!

Such a sweet letter to Rob and his Mum. It was so nice to include her, because honestly without her, Rob wouldn't be here.

AWE, super sweet perspective!! She surely had no idea he would be this global superstar that all women drool over! LOve the vids and pic of Mr. and Mrs. Pattinson!

No mum knows things like this... I am sure she doesn't...

Such a nice take on the day, Lisa! Really that is so sweet! I really enjoyed seeing them in the audience of Ellen that time.
