TwiWeasel (TW) from Twi-sted Edbrella and TigerlilyLace (Lacey) from Tigerlily's Tirade have been friends since junior high. I've known them a little less longer ;) We "met" in the Edbrella neighborhood and have been talking pretty much daily ever since. When they found out that I was
TW and Lacey are from Kansas, and I am from Illinois, so we tossed around a few meeting places. Lacey found out that Joan Jett would be at Harrah's in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and it only took about 17 seconds for us to agree that it was the perfect choice for us.
We met at the hotel around 2 pm. I was running behind schedule (no shock to those of you who know me in RL), and they were running around lost. LOL! They got there just before I did, and when I got off the elevator and headed down the hall toward our room, there was TW sticking her head out the door looking for me. I found out later that Lacey was recording my arrival. (Hopefully she hasn't figured out how to embed that in her post.)
After hugs and getting over the initial shock and awe of finally meeting face to face, we exchanged gifts.

TW made all three of us t-shirts for the concert. Loved them,
and lots of people asked us where we had bought them.
My shout out to Kristen, Joan Jett, and The Runaways
thanks to TW's help with the exact phrasing
Not sure what she was trying to imply here ;)
These vampire teeth totally glow in the dark, and
we totally forgot to bring them to the concert with us.
My MotU-themed koozie rocks!!!!
This started out as an inside joke. I mention MotU so often,
that Mrs. P joked one day that I must be getting a commission.
I wish. So now I follow up references with the the universal sound/symbol for $.
Then we went downstairs and ate at the buffet.
Eyes up, people!
(Lacey was ecstatic that they had Pepsi products.)
Before the concert, we gambled a little bit in the hotel casino.
TW was watching my money get drained on the slot machine
and told me I should stop, cash out, and keep the ticket.
I spy 17!
(She also tried to spare me the slot machines called Wh*les of Cash,
but couldn't protect me from the giant flat-screen TV that was
running a commercial with a wh*le breaching the water. Gah!
I did manage to win $11.97 [I spy 17!] the next morning
playing a slot machine called 50 [ka-ching!] Dragons.)
Then it was time to head to the concert.
Pocket Edward was stoked.
Outdoor venue that accommodates 4,500;
hotel rooms in the background; casino is to the right
TW and Lacey getting their drink on
Good Music, Good Friends, Good Times
(That's what the back of our t-shirts said, too.)
My substitute for boxed wine
I warned TW that we didn't know where that avi had been.
Just sayin'.
PE was quite the ladies man that night. So much so, that he
actually went home with the sweet, young thing sitting behind us.
Turns out she was really into the Twilight Saga and had explained
to her boyfriend that we were nuts Twi Moms. It was love at first
sight for PE and sweet, young thing. They grow up so fast. *tear*
No plastic figures were harmed in the taking of this photo. There may,
however, have been some drunk tweeting going on during this time.
Joan Jett rocked our socks off. You forget how many songs she has that you couldn't help but sing and clap to. She was so much tinier in person and...Ill just say it...she was sexy as hell. She's still got it going on.
A few hours, drinks, and souvenirs later, we headed back to the room. It had been hot and humid at the concert, so we all took showers. (Separately. Honest.) We looked for The Runaways on pay-per-view, but it wasn't playing. Remember Me and New Moon were, though. Lacey said we couldn't watch RM because she didn't want to be depressed, so we purchased NM. About 17 minutes into the movie, Lacey was passed out sleeping. TW and I managed to stay awake, for the most part, and finish it.
The following morning, we ate breakfast at the buffet, pooped, packed up our things, and checked out. It went way too fast, and I hated saying goodbye. It's awesome being able to put faces, voices, and real names together with bloggy names. They were exactly who I had hoped they would be...and more. Thanks, girls, for an awesome weekend. Can we do it again on the 28th for The Black Crowes???!!! Mwah!

And speaking of concerts, both Twired Jen and Tongue Twied emailed me to tell me that there was video footage of Rob singing. What???!!! I was having a heart attack because I was in town running errands and couldn't get the links to work on my cell phone. Thanks for thinking of me you two!! I did run home and watch it on my PC. There may or may not have been some carnage left on the road in my haste to get home, but it was worth it.
As most of you know, my ultimate fantasy is to be in a small pub where Drunk Rob is wearing his beanie, playing his guitar, and singing to

WOW Lisa!!! What an amazing weekend! It just makes me all the more excited for FFFFFOOOOORRRRRKKKKKSSSSS!!!!!
I'll be headed over to check out what they thought of you soon. :P
OMG, I love seeing all three of your pretty little faces. I’m happy you guys had a good time at the concert and my god, the gifts... awesome.
Now, the little clip of Rob singing. That was the first time I saw it. He’s just too precious. Btw, I like the guy on the bottom left just starting at the floor. (It’s okay, I’d be overwhelmed too if he was playing right in front of me. I’d probably be looking at my freaking feet or something. :)
Well, if only Dani was following the schedule at the same pace as you and Lace. And to think how much she bragged that her post is almost done. Hmpf. :P (this is for Dani, of course)
Loved the photos, and of course you telling the story. "We took showers. Separately. Honest." ROFL, Lisa. :D
Despite the fact that Dani thinks she and I might never meet in RL, I hope to prove her wrong. I want to meet all of you. I feel so blessed to have found all of you.
You are my life now.
<3
Aww, fab to read the details Lisa :o) xx
Lisa, you have such a better take on this than I did, although I think I wrote a short novel. Then I couldn't get the %@#)%( thing to post with the pictures. WTF?! I think I am a technical fail.
Great post Lisa! Glad you had so much fun.
Dreams do come true:)
Wow Lisa, you are really getting around this summer!!!! LOL It looks like you guys had an amazing time.....I'm so jealous!
Joan Jett was my first real concert back in the day....she opened for Cheap Trick at Chicagofest. I think it was 1981 or 82. I was more impressed with her than Cheap Trick!
Rob singing......uh, I'm dead. I downloaded a bunch of Rob songs on my mp3 player as well as a bunch of Van Morrison songs.....and Rob is doing a great job of emulating his musical hero. I love listening to his voice!
Great post Lisa!
♥Marie
What a great time! Can't wait to do it again!
I forgot to mention earlier that my fave line in your post was this one...
The following morning, we ate breakfast at the buffet, pooped, packed up our things, and checked out.
I have no idea what you're referring to.
Love you, ho! I'm so glad we got to meet IRL. It was never weird.
Damn...one more thing.
@Everyone...the kissin pix were taken BEFORE the port-a-potty pix!!
Good times, good times!!! You guys should definitely go back for the Black Crowes!
Cute trinket box! Super "koozie." I was unaware of the correct spelling but I know it now! ;)
Love how the announcer enunciates "Pattinson" in the video. lol
@TW...don't worry, I washed my hands.
Another awesome twidom meet up. All the cool Avis were there and everything. So many cool gifts you got too Lisa...loved them all.
Rob singing....yeah.
You got a Ka-ching cozy! That is so perfect. Awesome story, loved it. Reading posts like this make me really excited for FOOORRRKS! Like I need help in that department though.
PS. You gave PE away????!!
OOh i'm jealous. It looks, and sounds as if you all had a fab time!
Oh and It'd be rude not to mention Lacey's amazing rack ;)
So amazing and so awesome that you met some fellow bloggers! You all seemed to have a blast! I think it may have been unnessary to get a pic of Mrs. P while she took care of business. LOL
Rob's singing is truly amazing! That is all!
Girls weekends are the best! Glad you all had a super time. I loved seeing all the pictures :)
You've got to be freaking kidding me. I swear that I don't stalk your page just waiting for the 17th comment to be left...and then comment to mess it all up.
The girls weekend w/ Joan Jett sounds AH-mazing!! I LOVE meeting bloggy friends. It has become one of my favorite things to do over the last couple of years. It is so cool to put voices and real-life faces with the friends you make through blogging. Love the gifts you guys exchanged and the t-shirts are awesome!
I adore that video with Rob singing. His voice is so soothing to me...takes me to another place.
Tess♥
Damn, @Mrs P and @TwiWeasel...I should have posted you two cuddling in the bed the next morning. Guess we know who gave Mrs P. the Lei...LMAO
@Lisa, I had so much fun! TW is right it was NEVER weird, like we had known each other for a long long time.
I hope to meet more blog friends in the future, as well as see Lisa again.
@TLR...Damn! Now the secret's out! Mrs. P...you were a great lei! Bwahahahahaha!
Wow, so nice you all had such a great time, and I'm sure your sides were hurting from laughing so much. I'm very curious, what was on TLR's t-shirt? I hate.......?
There is far too much awesome information and great pictures in this post to call attention to just one thing!! I am so jealous! I am glad you had fun. Thank you for sharing with us.
Sigh, why do all my bloggy friends have to live on the other side of the world? What an awsome weekend. We had a recent school excursion (to the Tim Burton & Titanic exhibitions, if they ever exhibit close to you-GO)& I took mini E with me. My daughters friends fell in love with him sending me txt's all afternoon telling me how sexy he is & one of them told some random bloke on a tram that I carried my boyfriend around with me in my bag! Lol!
We've talked about what Rob's music does for us havn't we? Sigh again....
@Z Any Mouse...TLR's shirt says "I Hate Myself for Loving You." That's her fave Joan Jett Song. Mine says "I [heart] Rock n' Roll!" That's my fave JJ song...at least it was before the concert!
@SV - Forks will never be the same ;)
@HG - I noticed that guy, too! LOL!! I think he may be recording Rob's performance. Someone needs to release the entire performance. *stomps foot*
@Jelena - It was funny that after all of that, her post went up last, wasn't it! And, yes, we have built ourselves quite the community :)
@Stan - Just remember that at the end of the day, this is all your fault since we "met" through Edbrella :)
@TW - I love your post, silly!! And it may have gotten a little weird after breakfast. Just sayin'. LMAO!! And because I love you too, I will admit the kissin' pic was taken before the potty pic. LOL! So what is your favorite song after the concert?
@RobzSinger - Dreams that I never even knew I'd have until Rob brought us all together :)
@Marie - I think you just called me a h00r! LOL!! It's been a fun summer, including meeting you, Kassie, and the rest of the gang, of course. PLEASE email me about how you got Rob's songs on your MP3 player!!
@TLR - We definitely have to do it again! Love the Mrs. P/lei comment!!
@TT - I want to see The Black Crowes again big time. I don't think the other two will be able to swing it, though, with little kids, etc. I asked my daughter if she wants to go with me, and she's thinking about it. And, yes, the announcer in the video made sure he enunciated the TTs, didn't he? He must have been thinking of you ;)
@Mrs. P - You were the coolest avi there, as always. And thank you for biting your tongue. I think I know what you really wanted to say next ;)
@LwE - The Ka-ching!/50 shades owns me koozie rocked my socks! You should have seen me. Right now, it's snuggling up to my can of VitaminR beer Mama Cougar gave me when I visited her. And, yes, PE was adopted, but you have to know that the other one is safe and sound here at home :)
@Mary - It would be rude NOT to mention her rack ;)
@rpfangirldc - That's the kind of shenanigans that happen when it's hot and humid and you cool off with Smirnoff Ice. LOL!
@Mox - One of these days, we have to have a girls' weekend at The Ranch!
@Tess - That's too funny that you've ended up being comment #18 the last two times! It is a blast meeting fellow bloggers in RL. If you get a chance, let me know who all you've met or direct to me to a post (or posts). I'd love to hear about it.
@Zany - Sorry I was so late commenting on my own blog. Thanks, TW, for answering her question. You know all about meeting bloggy besties in RL and how much fun it is. We really did laugh a lot. Hope you had a great time at the 100 Monkeys concert last night. Can't wait to hear all of the details and see pictures.
@DD - One word...FFFOOORRRKKKSSS!!!
@Stacked Like Sookie - It sucks that you live so far away, and I'm still amazed how far-reaching this all is. Good for you for taking Mini E with you. I'm sure he had a blast with your daughter and her friends. Thanks for the heads up on the exhibits. And, yes, we have definitely talked about what Rob's music does to us. If he only knew...
