Mama Cougar's New Moon DVD Release Party Kicked Ass!

Well, it finally happened. My real life collided with my blogging life. It was awesome! I found Mama Cougar through Twitarded when I first started blogging. MC and I bonded over blogging, Rob, and living in Illinois.

I had read about and seen pictures of MC's Twilight DVD Release Party, so when she invited me to attend the one she was hosting for New Moon, I jumped at the chance. It was everything I had hoped it would be and more. Those of you who have already been lucky enough to meet fellow Twihards know what I'm talking about. You get the chance to hang out with people who get it/you.

With MapQuest directions in hand, I made the three-hour trek to the small, rural town that is home to The Cougar's Den. It looks a lot like the small, rural town of Taylor Ridge that I live in.

Having 17 in the population number was a "good sign." LOL!

Here is MC's video about the party preparations and
the specific contents of our incredible swag bags.

Great attention to detail

Alice's yellow Porsche (or Ferrari as Natalie called it - lol)

Mary (aka Mama Cougar) and Me

Sarah (aka Lil Cougar), Me, and Mary

Papa Cougar was unbelievable! He ran for the pizza, made sure
our drinks were always refilled, took pictures for us, etc., etc.
Click here to read more about him and see pictures
from last year's Twilight DVD Release Party.

The early crew – our group doubled before the night was over.

Our toast to @VitaminR70 with Charlie's drink of choice

Our Jell-O shot toast to Robward

Pocket Edward found something he liked.

Look closely at the receipt. Our pizza was
ordered by none other than Bella Swan ; )

The infamous room!

Bella (panting after Robward, I'm sure)

Our Jell-O shot toast to New Moon

Mary getting ready to replace the Forks DVD with New Moon.
She bought the Walmart special edition DVD btw.

Rules of our drinking game. Papa Cougar was busy handling refills!
Who knew drinking every time we saw plaid would be what did us in.

The plaid count started immediately with the Remember Me trailer.
Completely forgot it would be included on the DVD. If you haven't
seen Rob's performance in this movie yet, you're missing out. Go!

It's time, it's time, it's time!

She moaned, he moaned, we all moaned ; )

Edward: Marry me.
Bella: *gasp*
Us: *applause*

Then we watched the special features, which included behind-the-scenes footage and a sneak peak of Eclipse. Mary and I totally FREAKED OUT when we saw Rob running with his beanie on. One more reason I love her – she loves Rob's beanie!! (I watched some of New Moon with the commentary turned on with Mary before I left this morning, and it was very interesting and funny. Can't wait to listen to all of it.)

I can't thank Mary and her family enough for hosting the party and taking me into their home. We are already making plans to meet half way to watch The Runaways together, and I look forward to many more "play dates."

Eclipse Behind-the-Scenes and Sneak Peek Video

I watched this video again this morning at Our Life On No List, and they wanted to know what we thought about the footage. I am posting the video here and asking you the same question. My random observations are listed below.

– Love the way Rob says Beller.

– Hate hearing Mike Welch saying that this movie is going to be darker, which is why they got David Slade. Darker than New Moon? Let's hope not!

– Love Rosalie's hairstyle, especially the braid.

– I wish Rob had gone barefoot instead of wearing the short black socks while running, but still love it/him.

– Anyone else think it's gross that Taylor catches grapes thrown by people who probably haven't washed their hands recently?

– 3:36 mark – Looks like Kristen is wearing Rob's shirt. LOL!

– Jackson's hair looks better in most of the scenes, too. THANK GOD!

– I love listening to the entire dialogue between Bella and Edward, but hearing Robward whisper "I've told you" gives me shivers.

Last, but not least, Amy from missamyjoon designed my current banner. Thanks, Amy!!!

Sounds like you had a great time Lisa, it sounds like it was great :o)

My main comment on the Eclipse sneak peek is that all of the scenes flash by too quickly, I want to examine details!

This sounds and looks like TONS of fun!!!! I would love having some girls here to do this kind of event with me, but my girls are far away from a Twilight obsession.

I can't wait to get my DVD (it's not out yet in Germany!!!)

What a great party. Makes me wish I lived in Illinois too. Except for the part about all the snow up north.

The sneak peak of Eclipse didn't give us any scenes. It was fun to see behind the sence footage. Will have to watch a few more times.

OME Lisa! It looks like you girls had an amazing time!!!!The decor, the drinks, the cake, oh my! It all looked fabulous! I love the Bella Swan on the pizza receipt. My party was a smashing success as well.....I posted the pictures from my party on my blog, but haven't had much time to write about it yet. I was pretty much a waste yesterday, and now I have to go to work. (ugh!) Hopefully I will have time to add more details tonight.

OK--I really hope I am leaving this comment on the right post. I always screw this up somehow! LOL! Looks like you all had an awesome time, and it was wonderful of MC to open her house to everyone and host this party...not to mention give everyone an incredible swag bag.

What's better than Twilight fun? Nothing!! That party looks like such a blast. I wish I was there. I really like the Eclipse footage. It doesn't show too much but it looks really exciting. It basically just really makes me want to see Eclipse. I don't want spring to just pass me by but come on June 30th!!

Hmm- Edward in bare feet has always been hot (J/E slash) "– I wish Rob had gone barefoot instead of wearing the short black socks while running, but still love it/him."

It looks like you had a GREAT time.

Lisa what an awesome party MC threw and so wonderful you got to attend. My DVD sneak peak eclipse and specials sounds very different from the 2 disc one I've got here in Hong Kong. Think I'll have to pick up a copy while I'm in Vegas in April. Love your new look and I will have to mobilize your blog for you to match. Are you in? I don't need anything from you actually bc I just use your email to create a login. It will be my welcome home present for you :)

The black socks killed me too. Great post and I wish I had a Twi-friend near enough to do all that with!

How awesome Lisa! Planning those things are very time consuming I'm sure, so props to Mama Cougar! I'm slightly disappointed in my Target DVD, but oh well. Everything I missed is posted online anyway!

Thanks for the compliment, Dangrdafne :)

OME, that looks like so much fun!! Now I'm sad I didn't have a party to attend. :-( Where are all the PNW ladies at??!

I'm glad you had such a great time, and that room is amazing!

ZOMG Lisa P., I love you HARD! See?!? I told you that you'd fit right in at my den, didn't I?!? Unicorn was bummed you had to leave before he got back but we both agreed that we'll be seeing you again for the Eclipse party in November, even if he has to drive up to kidnap your happy ass. Seriously people, Lisa P. is just....well...she just GETS me. And I get her. And together, we adore Rob like Cougars love red meat.

THANK YOU so much for driving all that way to see me, I'm SO glad you took that leap of faith! Also, do you have any earthly idea how in LOVE I am with that awesome gift you brought me? Lil' Cougar unwound the whole thing yesterday so she could look at the cells and just kept ogling. "Mom! It's shirtless Rob!"

Anyway, I just wanted to say I'm glad our worlds collided and I am SO blessed to have found a new friend in you.

Oh my gosh that looks like so much fun Lisa! Wow, she and her husband went all out!

I can't wait to re-watch all of the behind the scenes stuff. I gave the DVD I purchased at Target to my Sis (of course she paid me for it) and I'm now waiting to receive the one I ordered from Target.com If I get it today (which I should,) I might stay up late and zone out to it all in the dark... he he he (evil laugh)...xoxo

EXCUUUSE ME! THAT IS SUCH AN AWESOME PARTY! I can't believe that Bella cake, wow! Alright any future Twilight inspired party I may have been planning is already put to shame. Great job to Mama Cougar!

PS Amy great banner!

That is sooooo cool and neat-o!! Oops, did I just say that? I'm dating myself, eh. I love that the dog is named Bella, and the decorations are awesome. Cheers!

Dayam!! That party looked fucking amazing and lots of fun!! Mama Cougar clearly knows how to have a good time!

If I didn't live so far away (er, and wasn't in Texas anyway) I would have loved to crash that shite.

Frankly, I'm kinda jealous. I think next year I need to let Summit know they shouldn't have the DVD release the same time as SXSW so I can party too...

Looks like you had a lot of fun...and a lot of drinks!

I refuse to watch any Eclipse spoilers. The virgin philosophy helped me for Remember Me so I'm hoping it does the same for Eclipse.
