The End

I did it. I finished MotU Saturday and had to say goodbye to Fifty and his Bella. I have never read anything so slow in my life. I did not want it to end. Luckily, I have an awesome support group to help get me through the withdrawal.

Fifty Shades of Sexy

First, I have to thank my bloggy bestie Dangrdafne at Dangrdafne's Days of Delirium for repeatedly telling me I needed to read this story; for pushing me to keep reading it when I worried that I couldn't picture Rob as this Edward (which is all I ever want to do); for patiently listening to my ever-growing love of the story and the character development of Edward and Bella; for answering the phone when I tearfully finished the last chapter; and for assuring me that life would go on. I love you, DD.

I thank Twilight Cupcake for also insisting that I read this story and for writing a wonderful post about it on her blog Twilight, Travel, and Treats clear back in February! Ti amo, TC. Can't wait to hear about Italy!!

I thank the brilliant Biel for creating a video that was beautiful even before I knew Fifty and that stirs me even more now that I do. Check out all of her videos at IamBiel.

I thank STY for writing the post on her blog Twitarded that finally pushed me over the edge.

I thank Bleria at the cold shower for writing a week's worth of rehab posts that I had to file away until I finished the story. Now I know why she needed to do them.

I thank Kit *wink, wink* at Tongue Twied for understanding my love of Fifty, making me smile daily with her witty emails and posts, and for giving me a heartfelt reason for why I should read The University of Edward Masen next, which I will, as soon as my rehab is over.

I thank all of the girls who have been putting up with my constant references to the story and to Fifty, which includes Stan, Mary, Twi-Weasel, Nibbles, and Becky at Twi-sted Edbrella; Lacey at Tigerlily's Tirade; Starlit Violets at Violet Delights, and Jelena at Confessions of a Twiholic.

I thank my Super Bloggy BFF Mrs. P at TwiBite for putting up with me in general. You are fifty shades of funny every single day (ka-ching!). I am holding you to your promise to read it next! As Mrs. P pointed out, she was surprised I didn't have a permanent link to the story on my sidebar. Good call.

I thank Snowqueens Icedragon for writing a story that helped me realize what "It pwns me" means. She wrote a story that will stay with me. I'm glad she left it open-ended. It gives me hope ;)

@SQicedragon on twitter

I also got beyond excited when I got an email alert stating she was writing an outtake from Fifty's POV and would be publishing it to raise money for Alex's Lemonade. You can read about the bidding here.

And I can't finish my post without thanking Twilove1, Twired Jen, and Elusive S for keeping me entertained after I finished reading it on Saturday with their text messages, pictures, and phone calls during their trip to the Twi-Convention in L.A. Twilove1 even went so far as to call me during the actual panel with Rob, Kristen, and Taylor and leave her cell phone on so that I could try and hear the Q&A. I could hear the tone of Rob's voice and I did hear him giggle/laugh which gave me goosebumps. Can't even imagine what it was like being there in person. Twilove 1 was even giving me commentary from time to time. For her to think to do that for me during the highlight of her journey to breathe the same air as Rob is humbling beyond belief. I'm still shaking my head and smiling just thinking about it. Thank you, thank you, thank you! XOXO

Check out some of Twilove1's pictures as well as her adventures with Mrs. P's avi (with the help of her partner-in-crime F-Kat) here.

And please check out the two-part post by Jen at Twired for a recap of their most excellent adventure ;) She has great pics, including a pic when they met Twilove1 and FKat, as well as a link to the complete 30-minute Q&A video.

One last thing. I know. I'm a wordy bitch today, but I don't blog that often so thanks for sticking with me if you're still reading. I know I lost Mrs. P to scrollitis about 17 paragraphs ago.

I have to share one of the sweetest thank-you cards I've ever received. As some of you know, I helped design a banner for the Twired blog. This is what I got in the mail last week from my "I give a big fat Crapsten" bloggy bestie, Jen. Please note the attention to detail, right down to Rob bringing me some boxed wine. LOL!

Mwah, Jen!!!

I can say, without a shadow of a doubt...that you are being completely honest when you say you loved this story. I have never heard you rave about anything so much when we spoke in the past couple of days. Granted, you may not have heard much of what I said because you were exhausted...but we all know why. MOTU owned you and now you are back. It is on my iPad now...step one is complete. I am reading it asap.

GREAT fic, right? *delay gratification* that's what I felt I was doing while I was reading this story..... OMG 50 owns me!!!!!!! *sigh*

Lisa,

How could anyone get scrollitis with this post? I'm a fat kid, and your blog is my cake! LMAO!

My interest is slightly piqued with your praise of MOTU. Maybe I'll sneak a peak at it. If YOU eventually got sucked in and addicted, that gives me hope that I might enjoy it.

Also, thanks for the shout out about Twi-con! It was a blast seeing Robsten & I am so glad that Sue was able to let you listen in a bit. I thought about doing that at one point, but then you texted me to let me know Sue was going to do it...it let me off the hook ;) Also, I'm happy you liked your card. It was fun making it and I adore my banner. It's so weird seeing it on your post...it made it halfway across the country! LOL!

*MUAH!*

Hi! Just wanted to bask in the post-MoTU glow. I read the story as soon as I heard it had finished and I could no longer put it off with excuses. And I was totally pwned as well. I think about Fifty at some point everyday, which probably isn't healthy, come to think of it. I was very apprehensive to read it since I've read a few D/s and BDSM stories and they scare me quite frankly. I was so surprised and happy when MoTU wasn't completely filled with that lifestyle! ...I kind of want to read it again...

And I also want to advocate for UoEM! I am so in love with that story and the author, SR, is amazing and loves all of his fan-girls! He's doing a piece for FGB2 also, so don't miss out on that one!

I love your accadamy award winning speech. Too funny! I guess I am going to have to read this story. I think I may be on of the last people who hasn't read it. I think I always passed it up because whenever I see Master of the Universe all I can think of is Heman. LOL But if Lisa loves it, it has to be good.

Oh Lisa, I love you too.

This was such a wonderful post. I feel all happy and smiley as I think about each person you wrote about above. They are all amazing Twitardia members but even more than that they are all amazing women and I am proud to call them my friends.

Please let "Kit" know that UoEM is on my list too.

To all who haven't read MotU, just read it for the story it is. Twired Jen, I know you like the book Edward and Bella and these are not them BUT try to read it as a whole other story and just because the names are the same as the books just realize it is its own story. Living with Edward, I thought the same thing when I saw the title and I believe Twitarded used that picture too but it is waaaaaay better. Also to all, don't fret about the sub/dom information that seems to overwhelm in the beginning, there is a reason for it all and it is all needed and worth it.

ANNOUNCEMENT: I'm nearing the end of Chapter 3. Never thought I'd EVER read more than a few sentences. The write is fantastic and sucks you in.

Wow! Your enthusiasm for MOTU is encouraging me to spend more time reading it. I got up to chapter 7 of MOTU last week and haven't had a chance to get back to it. Kassie started reading it around the same time and totally passed me by and left me in the dust. If you loved it, then it has to be good. :) I'm so lucky to have the summer off....I know what I'll be reading!

HMMMM....I think I am going to have to read this story, you all fawn over and over and over. Glad you made it through it Lisa. You will be better for it in the end...I have read things that stick with me like that (we all have...duh...Twilight Saga) and it can really have a profound effect on us.

MWAH!

I doubt anyone felt like they were putting up with listening to you about Fifty. I think we all want each other to share in these stories because it is overlap from our mutual love for Twilight,Rob, Kristen, and even sometimes Tayboy.

In one of Icy's A/N notes she said Bella's not pregnant "yet" so besides that and James plotting revenge I think Fifty will be back better than ever someday soon!

When you are ready, Profward, the self-described pretentious ass that he is, will be there waiting to fill the void in your heart. (for you too DD)

ps-MofU, one of my favorite first kisses. "Screw the paperwork!"

I just wanted to say I finished it on technically Sunday but I considered it still Satruday even though it was past midnight(I'm the Kassie that Marie is refering to btw lol).

I didnt think I would like the story and I will admit I had to skip some parts, I'm just not ready to read that. But the story behind it all was so good. I dont want to give anything away to anyone that didnt read it yet but I cried when Fifty's fam is at the apartment.. I'm sure you know why I cried.

I literally read through it in just a week. I couldn't get enough of it. Even though RL was getting in the way I figured sleep was highly overrated and I NEEDED to finish the story.

What a bummer when I was done... I didnt know where to go, what to do, no one to turn to so I could sort out my crazy thoughts and ideas about what I thought happened through the story and what could happen (if there was ever a sequel) and then I found your post!!! I'm glad I'm not alone and I know all the lovely ladies that read your post today and start the story will be coming back again for solace from the harsh reality of falling for Fifty!

Ok I will stop now... if anyone needs to talk about the story I will lend an ear... then proceed to chat yours off :) but seriously if you need it I'm here for ya!

Sorry about that, was full of typo's I didn't see 'til after. So you fell for Fifty big time too? I resisted reading this as I'm very "vanilla" & like @Autumn, the whole thing scared me a bit. I nearly stopped reading after she left him coz dealing with someone so broken is such hard work but I'm so glad Bella & I both perservered.
University of Edward Masen is next on my list.

Lisa, I'm very touched by your post and it was truly fun to share my Twicon weekend "virtually" with you, Mrs P, and Cullenary Curser and also "live" with my great friend F-Kat. Meeting Twired Jen, Elusive S, and LuvsMeSumEdward was so cool - it's amazing how all of us Twitards feel such an immediate connection and totally "get" each other!

I guess I can't consider myself a true fanfic h00r if I haven't read MoTU yet... (*hangs head in shame*). I have a ton of fics I'm in the middle of and I bounce between them all like a demented rubber ball, but I'll add Fifty Shades to the line up and dedicate my lack of sleep to you :)

XOXOXOXOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for mentioning me, Lisa! It hasn't been a bad thing for me to hear about Fifty. Actually, you've talked about it so much, I just might have to read it. And I've never read a ff in its entirety. Maybe MotU is my cure. ;)

Maybe I just need some Fifty (kaching)!

I lurve Fifty. Oh, I was so sad when the story ended. Hopefully a sequel??? Pleeeeease???

Loved your post here thanking everyone for their support. UoEM is a fantastic story - much different, but awesome just the same. Enjoy!

Lisa - We can hold each other through our next fic...I promise! Just let me know when you're ready.

Lisa: It was a sad day in fanficdom when MoTU ended. I too was totally pwnd by this epic story. When mourning is over- do head over to UoEM- you won't be disappointed by Profward.

@ALL – FANGIRL MOMENT. I tweeted that my MotU post was done and included Icy. She actually tweeted me back and said, “Glad you enjoyed it… great blog post! x” Pretty sure DD heard me squeeeee all the way in PA. The x died me ;)

@Mrs. P – You know, of course, they I will be checking with you daily to see if you’ve started it, yet. Don’t roll your eyes at me (ka-ching!). XOXO

@Lolypop82 – Definitely a GREAT fic! So glad I’m now part of the community owned by 50. *BIG SIGH*

@Twired Jen – I know that since reading this post, you started MotU and are already 19 chapters in. And you know that I am SO excited about that. LOL!! Keep the commentary as you read coming. I am loving it!

@Autumn – Welcome! I am so glad you stopped by to share your love for this story. My Fifty references are getting as bad, if not worse, than my Twiobservations. I completely understand your reservation about reading it for the reason you stated. It is part of the reason I put it off, too. As you said, it’s not the main part of the story, but it is important to understanding Fifty and the development of their love story. Another fan of UoEM. Cool. Recs coming from people like you who loved MotU mean a lot.

@Living with Edward – LMAO!! If only MotU could one day win an academy award for best screenplay, starring Rob of course. *fans self* Please tell me that after DD and I hounded you on twitter that you have started reading it! My son was a big fan of the movie Masters of the Universe. I was a big fan of Dolph Lundgren in the title role ;)

@Dangrdafne – We have a great group of friends don’t we?! Pretty sure Kit has read your comment by now. LOL! And thank you for what you wrote about MotU in your comment. As I’ve told you more than once, I will never doubt you again. XXXOOO

@IsabellaMARIECullen – I hope you get back to it soon, Marie! You won’t be sorry. I should have trusted Dangrdafne sooner with her rec of it. It will mean a lot to me if you trust my rec of it. Eclipse on IMAX is just around the corner. Can’t wait!!!

@TigerlilyRose/Lacey – It’s funny calling everyone by their blogger names now, isn’t it? Thanks again for putting up with me on a daily basis. XOXO

@TongueTwied – Oh, there were a few that were rolling their eyes, I’m sure ;) Holy crow! I missed Icy’s A/N stating that Bella wasn’t pregnant “yet.” I hope you’re right that there will be a sequel. Thanks again…for everything…and for reminding me that the first kiss truly was a “moment.”

@kassiecullen – Kassie, I know who you are, especially because of Marie and her Twilight Junkies Anonymous blog. I loved hearing about your epic Oprah Eclipse adventure. I am looking forward to meeting you and Marie in person in July when we go to the IMAX theater!! And now we have something else in common – Fifty! The part you mentioned is the first time I cried while reading the story, too. I hope you go back and read the parts that you skipped over. You will be surprised. It’s so well written and such an integral part of understanding Fifty and just how strong his Bella is. Oh, man. We are totally going to have to talk about this when we meet up. Thanks for stopping by to comment. If you are on Gmail, look me up on Gmail Chat sometime.

@Stacked Like Sookie – Hey, girlie! How have you been? If I deleted every comment that was full of typos, I would never have anything to say. It bugs the hell out of me, too, so I know what you mean. LOLOL! I am so glad that those of us who read MotU by peeking through our fingers at first had our eyes wide open by the end, even if they were swimming with tears. Very cool that you’re going to read UoEM next. We’ll definitely have to talk again once we get started and/or finish it.

@Twilove1 – Thanks again for sharing your adventure with me and the rest of our Twitarded group. I’m jealous that Twired Jen and Elusive S got to meet you in person before I did and vice versa, but so glad that you connected at the event. I know you’re still trying to absorb the fact that you got to see Rob in person. I swore I had ADD when it came to reading ff, too. The thought of a story that was 87 chapters long was just so daunting. Once I got into it, though, I remembered just how much I love to read a good book, because that’s what it is. You will love it. Promise. (((HUG)))

@StarlitViolets – You need to learn to respect your elders, SV. LMAO! Yes, you need to read MotU in its entirety. Only then will I think about giving you a cut of my ka-ching! MWAH!

@Musing Bella – Hopefully Icy heard our sobs and will write a sequel. As I’m typing this, I just got an email alert that UoEM updated. I need to get caught up asap, don’t I?!

@TwiWeasel – I’m ready for you to hold me! LOL! I will email you when my MotU rehab is over. Laters, Baby x

@Jayla – I was actually on twitter when it went nuts with everyone going into mourning when Icy posted the last chapter. I feel a little guilty not having had to wait for updates when I finally read it. I am glad that so many of you who love Fifty also love Profward. I am encouraged that there is life after MotU.

@Lisa-I'm sooooo excited that we will be meeting at Eclipse!! I have already started reading MotU again and have made a promise to myself I wont skip over anything. I'm not on gmail but you can email me at kas0525@sbcglobal.net anytime you'd like. I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on the story and any other fics you'd recommend.

I've yet to finish MOTU. I am glad you enjoyed it, as did I. I've something like 20 chapters left, and when I'm done, I'll tell you what I thought.
It was actually fun to hear you making references to MoTU every time we spoke. I thank you for mentioning me in your post. That is super kind and super sweet of you.

Btw, Tongue Twied has been raving so much about UoEM, that I've decided to cave in and read it - haven't started yet, btw. So we might end up in the same both you and I.

17foreverlisa said...

@kassiecullen - I'm so glad you're reading it again and not skipping over anything. Woo hoo! Thanks for your email address. I will look you up soon :)

@Jelena - Hey, girlie. So glad you're feeling better. Please, finish MotU so we can talk about it! And thanks again for putting up with me daily ;) TT has me scared about UoEM now because she and Jayla say it requires brain cells to read. I may be in trouble. LOL!!

hey...that is one of the FFs I actually started reading but when it got yanked I stopped. It did have some pretty good lemons if I recall.

I have over 500 blog posts to catch up on........I'm gonna need another vacation LOL
