It's official.

My days of seeing New Moon in the theater are over. I had set a goal of 11 viewings and fell a little short, but maybe it was meant to be. I saw it for the last time on the 17th. Just sayin'.

The theater that I normally go to pulled it first. I went with my best friend, who was a *gasp* New Moon virgin, on the 13th - the last week it ran there. When I couldn't find the poster in the lobby to take our picture by, I new its days were numbered. So I had to do a little Photoshopping in order to add it to my ongoing post. (To see the entire post, click here.)

Me & Michelle
(The picture was taken when we were cake cutters at the
wedding reception of the sister of the guy who gets me my
movie tickets and gave me the three movie trailer reels.)

Then my daughter came out to the house with a friend that we were basically meeting for the first time. In the course of the conversation, Twilight came up. Shocker, I know. Not sure who brought it up, either ;) Her friend said that he had actually seen Twilight but not New Moon and that he wouldn't mind seeing it. SCORE!!! So it was that I found myself going to what would end up being my last viewing of New Moon in the theater with another New Moon virgin. It couldn't have been more perfect, actually. The theater was pretty full. It was a vocal group, so I knew that, like me, they were all scrambling to see it one more time. Nick was a good sport about getting his picture taken with me. My daughter, not so much.

Nick & Me
(We had to go outside to find the poster. The mist, the cold,
and the bright lights didn't make for a great photo op.)

Well, I'll show her. Here is a picture of my beautiful kids, Danica and Travis, at my niece's wedding reception.

And I have to admit that my heart literally skipped a beat and I got a little weak in the knees when we got to the theater and there in the lobby was the Remember Me poster. It is heartbreakingly beautiful...he is heartbreakingly beautiful...the movie is going to be heartbreakingly beautiful.

So with New Moon gone from the theaters, I officially need to switch gears. Rob is in pre-production for Bel Ami. Remember Me hits the theaters in mid-March. Eclipse will start making its run in June. I have read the script for Bel Ami and Remember Me (working title Memoirs) and have Eclipse (or some version of it at any rate) but have yet to read it. I'm not sure if I will, actually. If my kung fu is strong enough, I plan on only watching the official trailers for Eclipse and experiencing the movie in that context. I'm not opposed to looking at set pictures or official movie stills, but I don't want to watch "leaked" videos like I did for New Moon. The way I felt after watching the entire breakup scene online made me almost physically ill. It was the first time I felt I had seen too much. I think it would have had a much more emotional impact on the big screen if I hadn't already seen it.

I've been pretty vocal about being disappointed about Remember Me being given a PG-13 rating. I've also been pretty vocal/pissed about the casting of the female leads for Bel Ami. But you know what last night's appearance of Rob at the Hope for Haiti telethon proved to me? I'm okay with all of it. Maybe it was the wine I was going through during Drunk Mad Libs at Twilight Sagapalooza. Maybe it was the fact that it felt like it had been years since I'd seen him or heard his voice. It's all irrational, I know, but whatever it was, I like the way that I feel today.

These are scripts that he fell in love with. These are movies he wanted to see made. These are movies he will grow as an actor in. Do I wish they all could be rated R? Of course. But then again, this is still one of the sexiest kissing scenes I have ever seen...it's PG-13...they are fully clothed. Sometimes, less is more.

Then there's this PG-13 seat squirmer.

And let's don't forget that Little Ashes will be out on DVD soon. I've seen enough YouTube clips of Little Ashes, The Summer House, and The Bad Mother's Handbook to know that Rob is sexy no matter how he looks or who he's kissing. Don't get me wrong. I have my fingers crossed that Bel Ami will be X-rated...er...R-rated, but in the meantime, there's always ff ;)

Like Mrs. P's story at TwiBite.

(I'm going to make you head over to her site for the
link so that you look around while you're there!)

Speaking of which, my super bloggy BFF sent me this for being her beta. She didn't have to, but I'm psyched she did. Pocket Edward and I love the mug, and we love Mrs. P.

I love that mug – and I love this one.

FYI -
Socialite Life has tons of great pictures from the Hope for Haiti telethon, as well as an article and pictures with Kristen at the Sundance Film Festival.

OMG Lisa!!! I love you too...sniffle...

Beautiful photos of your family and your New Moon experiences.

That's right...it is time to switch gears. You are a blog dedicated to Rob, and Rob's new projects are on the horizon!!!! I can't wait, as I am sure neither can you.

(I LOVE the way Edward gave us a shot of both sides of him AND the mug!)

AWWW, Lisa. Great way to close New Moon's chapter! Looking forward to celebrating Remember Me and Eclipse with you!

MWAH!

I just looked up to see if New Moon was still anywhere around me and one theater still has it, of course it is many miles from me and I won't be headed there to see it but it is nice to know there is still one place left for now. Love the pictures of you and your kids. Is there a special reason your wanted to see New Moon 11 times (that somehow I missed in a post)?

Wow, that mug is awesome! Yay for Mrs. P. whose fanfic I still haven't started. I know. *hangs head in shame* But I have a really good excuse - I have been working on that video for her.

And wowser, I envy you Lisa on watching NM so many times. Only saw it twice - I really didn't have the time for more. *hangs head in shame, again*

Tons of twifans gathered here too for the Thursday last showing and I felt so bad because I couldn’t go (plus Vampire Diaries was on). BUT I’m totally happy for all of you guys that got to come full circle. First to the premiere, and now... the last showing.

Oh, and the btw. Your mug rocks!!

@Lisa - I'm feeling your New Moon pain! I was mourning it's big screen demise until I learned that it's now playing at the discount theater right around the corner from F-Kat's house. SCORE!! So, naturally, our "book club" is going to be meeting there tomorrow for the 1:20pm showing. I love your twi-shrine shelf!

I am staying Eclipse pure too! I was ruined for New Moon, maybe that's why I didn't like it much.

btw....Your kids are gorgeous!

I'm protecting my Twymen for Eclipse too. That should be the best one yet because there will be plenty of the whole Cullen clan.

Three cheers for Mrs. P. I don't know how she does it. A great blog every day plus a fucking awesome fanfic.

OMG Lisa, I just checked Fandango, and it's gone from my favorite theaters as well =( I cut myself off at 4 viewings...We saw it the Sunday after it came out (waited 3 whole days to avoid screaming teenagers)...then saw it once in LA the day after our 2nd VROOM/100 Monkeys concert, then again in SD. I wonder how many times I'll watch it when it comes out on DVD??? (SQUEEEE!!!)
PS cute fam pics! I knew a girl named Danica growing up. Very unique/pretty name!

@Mrs. P – Thanks! And, yes, I am excited about Rob’s future projects. It should keep me blogging for quite some time :) Pocket Edward actually wanted to New Moon you, but I told him it was a little too early in the day for that ;) XXXOOO

@TigerlilyRose – Thanks, Lacey. Me too!! Mwah right back!

@Dangrdafne – Thanks. My kids are my life . . . well they were before the Robsanity kicked in. I kid. I kid. They left me with an empty nest, so blogging has filled the void and then some. My previous record for seeing a movie in the theater was 10. I was obsessed with Brendan Fraser in George of the Jungle (no laughing!). I think I talked about it in a follow-up comment and not in an actual post. Twilove1 has me thinking, though. It’s been years since I’ve been to our local discount theater. Since I get to go for free, I never think to go there. I will definitely have to see if it’s playing so I can try and squeeze in two more screenings.

@Jelena – Don’t hang your head in shame, girl! Can’t wait to see the video and, trust me, if I couldn’t go to movies for free, I wouldn’t be going so many times.

@HG – What did you think of Vampire Diaries?! I told Mrs. P that looking at the mug made me realize that I was going to be able to put my lips on Rob and slurp. LOL!

@Twilove1 – Big-time SCORE. Not only are you going to be able to see it in the discount theater, you get to go with your book club members. And did I read somewhere that you guys are going to see 100 Monkeys?!!!!

@mmMoxie – We’ll have to support each other as we try to avoid the online leaks for Eclipse. And thanks – I think my kids are gorgeous, too, but I’m not very objecting ;)

@TwitardedMom – Like I told mmMoxie, we’ll have to be each other’s support system as we try to avoid the Eclipse spoilers. This is my favorite book, too. There are so many special moments between Bella and Edward (kisses, the leg hitch, Bella trying to seduce Edward, etc.). I’d hope every single one of them is in the movie :)

@Twired Jen – Well, if I had 100 Monkeys concerts to go to, I may be able to justify cutting myself off at fewer viewings, too. And I can’t wait for NM to come out on DVD so that I can watch the good parts (Robward parts!) over and over. I’m also anxious to see the DVD extras and listen to the audio commentary. I’ll be surprised if Rob’s as adorkable as he was on the Twilight audio commentary, but one can hope!

My husband has just has one sibling – a brother named Dan. I liked names like Erica and Jessica and thought I was being totally original when I came up with the idea to call her Danica after his brother. We were going to call her Dani, but my husband’s family was still calling his brother Danny at the time, so it never stuck. Of course, we’ve all heard of Danica Patrick by now, but I honestly had never heard of the name before I named my daughter that. Small world that you grew up with a girl named Danica.

@Twilove1 & Twired Jen - Are you two, by chance, going to the same 100 Monkeys concert?!

I only got to see it in the theatre twice. I'll have to do better for Bel Ami...oh and maybe eclipse.

Congratulations Lisa!

I saw New Moon a whole TWO times! Amazing, I know ;)

That is some serious commitment! I too get all girlish when I see the Remember Me poster. I don't know how I feel about the PG-13 yet. I think they can pull it off. Breaking Dawn is crazy graphic, not the sex, the birthing scene alone. I got nauseous just reading it. That CANNOT be PG-13, but Lord knows it will be.

Anyway, that mug is AWESOME! Mrs. P knocked it out of the park there!

17foreverlisa said...

@Cullenary Curser - Promises, promises. LOL!! I'm sure a lot will depend on how well you like the movie(s), which I can understand. Not to mention RL getting in the way :)

@Amy - Thanks! Twice is nice :) And I have decided yet if it's commitment or that I need to be committed. LOL! Breaking Dawn definitely gets fantastical, which is why I'm sure no director has attached his/her name to it.

@Lisa - Oh, ok, now I feel better, knowing that you were going to the theatre for free. :D

You will see the video soon. I got distracted reading MotU. That is some hawt stuff!!

ONE I didn't even know he was on the Haiti telethon. Between my eldest's birthday and our own canadian telethon this info got lost. Thanks. Off to go check YouTube...

@Lisa- We're going to the 100 Monkeys concert in Anaheim on Thursday night. It will be Z any Mouse, F-Kat, Daughter F-Kat, Daughter Twilove1, and my not-quite-a-twitard-co-worker who we're going to refer to as Wolf Girl (behind her back). If I'm close enough to get any pics, I'll send them to you or maybe even learn how to put them on twitter. We'd love to meet other twitards if anyone else is going!

17foreverlisa said...

@Twilove1 - That is just TOO awesome. I'm so jealous. I think it will be a crazy cool time for all of you. And, yes, I'd love to see the pictures. I'll email you about posting them on twitter. It's really easy.

Woot woot! I'm really getting psyched about seeing 100 Primates on Thursday with the bookclub. Seeing NM together on Sunday was great fun. I luurrve my bookclub members, and it's okay with Mr. Any Mouse to hang out with them as much as I want, as long as he doesn't have to go, lol.

17foreverlisa said...

Hey, Z! It's just awesome that you three have found each other and can share the whole experience. Can't wait to see pictures from the 100 Primates (that's funny btw!) concert. I don't think he's the best singer in the world, but I can tell from the video clips that he's a sexy showman ;)
